If you are like me, you have tried everything to clear your skin – changed your diet, begged God to heal you…And have spent lots of money on doctors, nutritionists and naturopaths.

Well of recent, I decided to pick up my Bible and discover the importance of blessing what goes into my body, what I put on my skin, whether skincare products or even essential oils.  Including blessing my bath water and blessing my hair care products.  Blessing my nails which have toenail fungus through getting contaminated at pedicure salons.

Well you get the picture – Let’s talk about the benefits of doing this.

    1.  Clearing and Purifying Your Food and Drink

    3.  Transforming the Cellular Structure

Of your meals

   4.  Showing Love and Appreciation

for the nourishment you are about to receive.

    5.  Encouraging a greater state of mindfulness and presence

    6.  Amplifying the nutritional ingredients

that are most needed for your body while lessening the effects of ingredients that your body doesn’t need or want.

Blessing and giving thanks for what you eat and drink was originated by Jesus.  Therefore in order to understand what Jesus thinks about food and drink, let’s read John 6:32-63.  It’s a long passage, but bear with me.  I will explain what this means.

Let’s go!

Then Jesus answered them “Most assuredly, I say to Moses did not give the bread  from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”  Then they said to him Lord gives us this bread always.

And Jesus said to them ” I am the bread of life.  He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.  but I said you that you have seen Me and you do not believe.

All that the Father gives me will come to me and the one who comes to me I will by no means cast out.

For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.  This is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

The Jews then complained about him because He said I am the bread that came down from heaven.

And they said “Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know?” How is it then he says “I have come down from Heaven?”  Jesus answered and said to them “Do not murmur among yourselves.  No one can come to Me unless the Falther who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is written in the prophets “And they shall all be taught of God”.  Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.  Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; he has seen the Father.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life.

I am the bread of life.  Your fathers ate the manna int eh wilderness and are dead.  This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.  I am the living bread which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.

The Jews therefore quarrelled among themselves, saying ” How can this Man gives us His flesh to eat?”

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you have no life in you/.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal lief, and I will raise him up at the last day.  For My flesh is food indeed and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me and I in him.  As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

This is the bread which came down from heaven – not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead.  He who eats this bread will live forever.”

These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.  Therefore many  of HIs disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a hard saying, who can understand it?”

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?”  What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where he was before?  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.

The words I speak to you are spirit and they are life.

Wow…absolutely mind-blowing isn’t it?  Of course Jesus doesn’t expect you to eat human flesh or drink real blood.

What He means is that the words that he speaks are his flesh.  And they give eternal life to whoever believes and blesses his or her food in a holy manner.

For Jesus is the Son of God and has the words of eternal life.  His words are also spirit – forming real things out of simply nothing.  Through faith in His Heavenly Father and believing without a shadow of doubt that whatever He says will come to pass.

For example in Mark 11; 23-25 Jesus says –

“Have faith in God.  For assuredly, I say to you whoever says to this mountain ‘Be removed be cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says  will be done, he will have whatever he says.  Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them.  And whenever, you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

But if you do not forgive, neither will you Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.

So before we go to the actual prayer for blessing our food, we need to make sure our attitude is right before God and Man.  We need to walk in the love of Christ as well as His Spirit.  This is only possible by believing that Jesus is who he says he is, and asking him to be Lord of your life.  Because simply without him we are nothing and our life will be a sorry mess.

For example, things may be going well for your at the moment, but “life happens”  Someone you love leaves you or you fall ill.

To fix your life, you need to speak those things that are not as though they were.  Meaning, he/she is returning to me…I do those things and communicate in such a wise and loving manner that he/she will be drawn to me. Amen.

This sickness is not to death, but to the glory of God.  It is only a challenge and will pass.  I will do my part by walking in the love of Christ and walking in the knowledge that the Devil does not like me and does not want me to be successful in all areas of my life.

Physical. Emotional.  Financially. Mentally. Family-wise. Socially.

As human beings, we have power to speak words of eternal life that create order in our lives and around us.  God’s word in our mouth is the same thing as Him speaking it and His word accomplishes that thing to where it was sent.  It shall not return to us void but shall come to pass.

Have you heard the saying – “Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my word is forever”  Maybe you haven’t heard this verse  in Scripture, but believe you me, it is true.

So how can we bless our food and drink so that we can have eternal life flowing through us as we eat?  By eating and drinking as an act of worship to God.

Taking communion every day is a way to bless our food and drink.  We can take communion as often as we like and it doesn’t have to just be bread and wine.

It can be any food we eat – but let’s stay clear of junk food shall we?

People often told me to speak words of life and healing to my skin and body, however, I was too bothered about  its appearance and itchy state to pay their suggestions to mind.

But recently, I have been blessing my food and liquid, juices and smoothies and even commanded the itch to stop before I go to sleep.

So far it’s working.

So what is a useful prayer to pray for your food, etc?

Dear Lord, thank you for providing this nourishing food to me.  May it do good only to my body and may anything harmful in it pass straight through without harming me.

Bless this food Lord, as I take and eat it.  This is your body broken for me. I do this in memory of you as often as I eat or drink.

Liquids: Thank you for this cup in the new covenant in your blood.  I do this as often as I drink in memory of you.  Blessings be on high!

Amen

The tone of your voice is important.  Speak gently with love and peace.  Bless the food in this manner.  The food will be put on a higher frequency and obey your tone of voice.

I’ve been trying it recently and I noticed that with joy, I ate a piece of Garlic Bread yesterday and though I had a floury face the next morning, no harm came to me.  I did not scratch.

Also when I slathered on melted coconut oil and applied it to my arms – I was meditating on the fact that they didn’t itch and felt smoother and more moisturised than of recent.

Thanks be to God for his goodnes for his mercy endures forever.
